Clear communications are crucial for success at work, yet many employees don’t feel confident or safe enough to ask their bosses clarifying questions. They run with assumptions, and when those assumptions of what’s expected turn out to be wrong - it causes anger, frustration, wastes time and money.

As a leader ask yourself why is this happening with your team? What kind of culture exists where your people avoid asking you what you mean?

As coach Steve Chandler writes “ the biggest problem with leaders is they walk around with expectations of people”. Why not make it easy, and clear, and productive for everyone by establishing agreements, instead of inviting disappointment by creating un-communicated expectations of others.
